Biography

Sarah Hoskyns has been working as Associate Professor and Director of the 2 year Master of Music Therapy Programme at the New Zealand School of Music since February 2005, teaching, supervising clinical practice and second year masters research projects in music therapy. She is an experienced clinician, teacher and researcher in music therapy and was previously Head of the Music Therapy Dept at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (1991-2005). She is joint author and editor (with Professor Leslie Bunt) of The Handbook of Music Therapy published in 2002 by Brunner-Routledge. She is currently developing research into Masters Education in Music Therapy inquiring into attitudes and practice on integrating research and clinical teaching. She has an active interest in clinical practice with whanau (families) and exploring cultural approaches in NZ.
